Pinot Noir
The origin of Kings Mountain Pinot Noir is Clone #13 vines from the Louis Martini Vineyards, one of the oldest Pinot Noir clones in California. These vines produce a complex wine with a rich ruby color and an earthy nature, expressing the terroir, typical of the clone. Fruit aromas of dark cherry, guava and cocoa are typical of this Burgundy style Pinot Noir. The oak tannins are in balance with the fruit acidity and flavor, yielding a Pinot Noir with depth and concentration, yet still retaining a soft style. In 2009 we grafted our vineyard to grow exclusively pinot noir grapes.
In 2011, we added Clone 667 to our award winning Clone 13, creating BACCHUS™, a Pinot blend fit for the god of wine.
Kings Mountain Meritage™
A Bordeaux style blend, molded after the great wines of France. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. These vines yield a deep ruby color wine with dense concentrated dark fruit flavors, chocolate and spice, which are balanced with crisp acidity, firm yet supple tannins and undertones of French oak, leading to a rich finish.
